Aberdeen Open 2006 two 1st beginner places ( Sat, Mar 18, 2006 -

Very good results again for Moray beginners. In group 1a Daisy was the only person from Moray to skate in this competition, and took a very impressive 1st place against some very strong skaters.
In beginners 1b there were five Moray Club members skating competing against each other and also other skaters from across Scotland. Hayley took 1st place and Lucy took second place, Abbie was placed 4th and Claire 5th and Rachel was placed 9th. This was again a strong group of skaters and they all did very well.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th places for all competitors at Magnum
Magnum Open on Saturday 11th March and Sunday 12th March were great days for the skaters from Moray.
Claire took 1st place in beginner ladies 11 and over in a group of 14 and Rachel was placed 4th.
Hayley took 2nd place and Abbie 3rd place in beginner ladies 9 and 10 in a group of 16.
In beginner ladies 8 and under Daisy was placed 4th in a group of 19 skaters.
All the girls had a fantastic day and did everyone proud. Well done to all.

In beginner groups Catherine took 1st place in her group. Sarah Jane and Abbie both displayed good performances for their 1st open Competition, and Sarah Jane got 7th place in her group and got 13th.
Aimee got 5th place in Level 1 and Kirsty got 6th place in Level 2 group. Natasha was placed 11th in her group.
Nikola who skated at Level 6 got an impressive 2nd place and Gary took 1st place in Junior Competitive Level.

In the Beginner section Lucy took 1st place in her group, and Hayley finished in 3rd place. In the senior beginners, Claire took 2nd place. In level 3 Catherine took first place, Kirsty took second, Sarah-Jane 3rd. In level 4 Stephanie took 1st place and Natasha took 2nd.
All other skaters put on brilliant performaces and finished in some really good positions, these were Abbie, Daisy, Debbie, Rachel, Rebekah, Kieron and Aimee. A big well done to All..

On Saturday 1st October in Level 3 ladies Kirsty took 3rd place, other skaters in this group were Aimee who took 7th place and Sarah Jane who took 9th place. Catherine also skated in the other Level 3 ladies group taking 5th position. Kieran took first place in Level 3 mens. Lauren took 3rd place in Pre novice ladies, and Rowena was sitting in 2nd place after her short programme in Novice Ladies.
Sunday began with Ladies Beginners at 7.30am (yawn) in the 10 and over group Bex finised in 9th place, Debbie in 10th and Rachel in 12th position. Next aged 7 and under Daisy was placed in 4th position in a very strong group of skaters. Aged 8/9 was split, Abbie was placed 5th in her group, and in the second group Lucy was placed 4th and Hayley was placed 8th. After a break, first in the afternoon was Rowena who after her long programme finished in 2nd position. Natasha skated and finished in 9th position in Level 4, and Fiona went on to finish in 12th position at Level 5.
Well done to all skaters who competed and represented the club, and as always you did Moray proud. Thanks also to the coaches for all their work with the skaters.

Gary regains Scottish junior title. Gary has skated his way into his 2nd consecutive title of Scotish Junior Champion. Gary took the trophy away, after coming in 1st place with his short programme and 2nd place with his long programme. Gary will now compete in the British Junior Championships in December which will be held in Nottingham.
Nikola who is also competing in the British Championships in February, took 9th place in a large group of competitive novice skaters, performing both her long and her short programmes.
After a run of success this year Catherine and Kieran both took 1st place in the beginners ladies and mens groups.

Club skaters do well in Ayr open. Catherine took another 1st place, as did Kieran . Sarah Jane and Kirsty narrowly missed out on 3rd place positions in their groups, but took 4th place. Nikola competed in Novice group and also got 4th position. Well done to all other skaters who competed

Out of Scotland into England. Nikola provided an excellent performance in her 1st competition in England, and was placed 8th her group. Gary took 1st place in his group, and all other skaters did extremely well well who competed. Well Done

Nikola recently became the first Moray girl to compete in a British Championship. She traveled to the National Ice Centre in Nottingham to represent the club in the British Novices on February 10th and 11th.
Her short programme was performed to Mack and Mabel where she placed 15th from 23 competitors. She pulled up a place in her long programme, Sounds of Scotland, as shown in picture, where she performed several double jumps, including a double/double/double sequence, and finishing 14th overall

Final report. Gary was placed in third position after his short programme. After skating his long programme he was finally positioned in 6th place.
